About the Program
The Junior Firefighter Program introduces young people ages 16 to 18 to the fire service. Participants learn the fundamentals of firefighting in a safe, structured, and supervised environment while developing leadership, teamwork, and community service skills.
Junior firefighters may participate in classroom training and non-hazardous activities. Per state regulations, junior members may not participate in interior firefighting or live fire evolutions until they reach age 18 and complete required certifications.
