SHERIFF’S OFFICE ACCREDITATION ASSESSMENT TEAM INVITES PUBLIC COMMENT

Monmouth County – The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division and Monmouth County Police Academy are undertaking a virtual assessment process to maintain national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Incorporated (CALEA). With national accreditation, the Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division and Police Academy are able to compare and evaluate their operations against nationally accepted standards of practice, and continuously upgrade the Divisions’ and Academy’s performance.

The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office was the first sheriff’s office in the nation to accomplish “Five Star Accreditation” for simultaneous accreditation of the Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division, Youth Detention Center, Correctional facility, and Correctional Healthcare.

As part of a multi-program virtual assessment by CALEA representatives, Sheriff’s Office employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. by calling (732) 431-6400 Extension 1665 for the Law Enforcement Division and (732) 431-6400 Extension 1650 for the Communications Division and Police Academy. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.

Telephone comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division and Police Academy’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards. A copy of the law enforcement and communications standards are available for review at the Public Safety Center, 2500 Kozloski Road, Freehold, New Jersey 07728.
