SHERIFF COMMENDS THREE RETIRING OFFICERS FOR MANY YEARS OF SERVICE

Monmouth County Sheriff Kim Guadagno acknowledged three Sheriff’s Officers for their years of service with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, Law Enforcement Division. Sheriff’s Officers Jeffrey Truax, Donald Slanika and Steven Lord all retired from their posts on June 30, 2009. “I commend these officers for their dedication, hard work and accomplishments,” said Sheriff Guadagno. “All three officers faithfully served the Sheriff’s Office throughout the years and will be greatly missed.”

Jeffrey Truax began his career as a Sheriff’s Officer in 1984 and retired with 25 years of service. Throughout his career, Officer Truax worked in the ID Bureau, Missing Persons Division, Hall of Records and up until retirement, provided security at the Monmouth County Courthouse.

Donald Slanika began his career as a Sheriff’s Officer in 1984 and retired with 25 years of service. Officer Slanika is a certified fingerprint classification/comparisons specialist and spent many years in the ID Bureau. He worked in the Court Security Unit from 1994 until retirement.

Steven Lord started his career as a Corrections Officer in 1987 and retired with 22 years of service. Officer Lord was hired by the Law Enforcement Division in 1993. During his career he worked in the ID Bureau, Court Security Unit and Warrants Division. Officer Lord was a sniper with the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team and a Firearms Instructor.
