Accreditation Team Invites Public Comment
Monmouth County – Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden announced that Site – Based Assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive March 25, 2024, to examine all aspects of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division, and the Monmouth County Police Academy’s policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services.
Verification by the assessors, that the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office divisions meet the Commission’s comprehensive state-of-the-art standards, is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation, a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence. As part of the assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information public access portal https://cimrs2.calea.org/290 .
If for some reason individuals cannot access the portal but would like to provide comments to the assessment team, they may do so by writing to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc. The agency was the first sheriff’s office in the nation to accomplish “Five Star Accreditation” for simultaneous accreditation of the Law Enforcement Division, Communications Division, Corrections Division, Correctional Healthcare and the Youth Detention Center.
