Sheriff Urges Schools To Participate In County Poster Contest

Monmouth County: Sheriff Shaun Golden, County Clerk Christine Hanlon and County Surrogate Rosemarie Peters are inviting fourth grade students to enter the ‘My County’ poster contest sponsored by the Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey to commemorate County Government Month (April 1-30, 2017). Since the majority of fourth graders study the State of New Jersey as part of their social studies curriculum, all school principals in Monmouth County are being asked to get each fourth grade student involved by creating his or her own poster. The posters created should depict special and unique things about Monmouth County and how they relate to County Government.

County Officers Association members in each of New Jersey’s 21 counties will select the winning posters from the entries in their county. The top three poster winner will receive prizes. Nine posters will receive honorable mention and each of the twelve posters will be on display in county administration buildings.

Please mail or deliver posters to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office no later than Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2500 Kozloski Rd., Freehold, NJ 07728. They must be on standard 22″ X 28″ poster boards with the name of Monmouth County at the top of the poster in 4-inch letters with black marker. The student’s name, teacher’s name and school need to be printed neatly in the lower right hand corner on the back of the poster.

For additional details on the poster contest, log onto www.mcsonj.org or contact Cynthia Scott at (732) 431-6400 ext. 1113.
